ABOUT

Hi. After 15 years of frequent travels and adventures in Europe, Africa and Asia - mostly by motorbike - I finally succumbed to the seductions of photography around four years ago. Since then, It has kind of taken me on a rollercoaster - rather to my own surprise :-)

When I am not travelling or photographing on the streets of Lille, Brussels or Ghent, or visiting photography exhibitions, I try to read up on photography and its fascinating history. Photography got me involved in several projects.

One project involved documenting the life stories and making portraits of the last Catholic nuns of Flanders together with journalist Valentijn Dumoulein - a project funded by the regional Heritage Fund Center. In november 2018 we published the book 'ZUSTERS' and set up a travelling exhibition on the same subject.

Another project is my street photography in Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Xian, Chengdu, Lhasa, rural Southeast Asia or wherever my travels take me. My series "Street Vibrance", a collection of street photography I made in Chinese cities has been selected for the "Fotografiecircuit Vlaanderen" and is currently  exhibited over an 18 month period in 18 different cultural centres in Flanders.

My work has been exhibited on several occasions, including a duo-exhibition with photographer Stefaan Vandorpe and has been selected for the National Geographic calender. I do freelance work when the subject suits me.

My newest project was a collaboration with street artist SMOK. I photographed elderly people in social service centers in Ghent, which were then painted on a giant scale on apartment buildings around Ghent by the artist SMOK.

Oh... and I like to fool around with Lego minifigures and a camera !
